Terror Extreme 1.1.0

I. Legal Disclaimer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hate writing documentation so bear with me.
Terror Extreme was the product of, what I think, lack of imagination and
laziness from others. I noticed way to many LORD IGM's out there that
were programmed well, but just lacked the interest, so I decided to
write my own and release it.
You may distribute this archive in it's unmodified form. If you intend
to put this on a CD, you must put the original, unmodified archive on
with all the original files it, no need to contact me, but it would be
appreciated if you do.
You may not hex edit, or change in any way, any of the files. It would
be a crime if you do, as I hold the copyright on all files.
(End of standard legal junk everyone skips past.)
II. About the IGM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Terror Extreme puts the user in a criminal setting. The point is to
buy the parts for various traps, build them, then set them. The user
gets rewarded for succesfully "doing" in someone. It is not way to
overgiving (in my own opinion, everyone elses is diffrent) like the
others out there. It defaults to a "clean mode", since a vulgar word
may appear every now and then. Users have a choice of terrorist acts
comitted on the Dark Cloak Tavern, some of them include:
- Gassing the Dark Cloak Tavern with up to (so far) 3 diffrent
lethal gasses.
- Various Traps that include Spike Rack, Pit, and more.
This is just some of what's inside. I'll let you try it out and decide
if you think it's worth putting in your LORD game.
If you find any errors, please report them to me!
Files included in TERROR11.ZIP:
* FILE_ID.DIZ Description file used by BBS's.
* TERROR.DOC You're reading it.
- TERROR.EXE Executable file for Terror Extreme.
- TINST.EXE Configuration/Install utilty.
* KSS.EXE Demo/Plug for my BBS :)
* WHATSNEW.110 New changes list for this version.
* + TERROR.ERR Error Logfile.
* + TERROR.LOG Logfile usage for Terror Extreme.
- + TERCFG.DAT Configuration file for Terror Extreme.
Files marked by a * are not mandatory and can be deleted to save space.
Files marked by a - are mandatory and are needed for Terror to run.
Files marked by a + are not included, but are created at runtime.
III. Installation, Upgrading
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are upgrading from a previous version, just unzip and overwrite
the previous files (TERCFG.DAT will be untouched). Feel free to make
a backup of Terror first (not needed though).
Unzip in a temporary directory (or any directory for that matter), then
run TINST.EXE the installation/configuration program.
[C] This option toggles Clean Mode. It defaults to ON, since a dirty
word or two appears with it OFF.
[L] This sets the full path to LORD and it's files. The format of the
string you enter should be like: C:\BBS\LORD However, it really
doesn't need the drive letter if it is to be installed on the
same drive.
[S] This sets the "Thanks" to registering string, if the game is
registered, it will accept this and display it when the IGM
is started. Great for when a user decides to help register.
Default string is 'Lynyrd Skynyrd'.
[N] This sets the attack cost (in forest fights) everytime the
user wants to commit a terrorist action. Default is 3.
[I] This checks to see if you have set the path, and will copy
over the IGM files to the LORD path. It also puts itself
in the 3RDPARTY.DAT file. I have taken ALOT of time into
testing and making sure nothing goes wrong here. But, if
for some wierd reason it doesn't install it right, all you
need to do is copy over TERROR.EXE, TINST.EXE and TERCFG.DAT
to the LORD directory (make sure you defined the LORD path
first). And modify the 3RDPARTY.DAT file so LORD finds it.
Simple, eh?
[U] This will not delete anything, it just takes the entry out
of the 3RDPARTY.DAT. Please note that the 3RDPARTY.DAT file
is always backed up to 3RDPARTY.BAK before the install or
uninstall!
[Q] Exits the program.
TINST.EXE will copy over the config file to the LORD path now so
when you make any changes they will take effect, instead of having
to manually do so.
IV. Registration Features
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Registration is only 5 US Dollars ($5). It will not only support
the few hours I spent developing this, but will make you feel
better deep down inside. The user will be able to use the lethal
gas at the Dark Cloak Tavern. Please, if this is being used
somewhat, I ask you either send in the $5 (preffered) and support
this program, or remove it off your system, although it is NOT
mandatory that you remove it. Registering this IGM will help me
make it that much better, by continuing support on this. All upgrades
will be free. I have included the registration form in this file,
as to lessen the clutter (as a sysop myself, I know what having many
IGM's can do to clutter things).

The last two (age/sex) is strictly by your choice, no need to fill that
out whatsoever.
Fill this out, send five US Dollars ($5) in cash, money order, or check,

Nick Shreders
2602 Belle Crest Dr.
Lawrence, KS 66046

I am NOT responsible for *ANYTHING* sent in the mail. If you send in a
registration with cash, and some lazy postal worker gets ahold of it,
you are out of luck. This rarely happens though, Ive always used
security lined enveloped with cash before with no problem.
All money orders and checks will be processed first (usually same day
upon receipt) before I send out the registration key.
Sending cash may be slightly faster in receiving the key, however.
If you do not have a printer, please manually copy everything down
on paper, then fill out. Thank you.
